Referral for an examination to assist with a determination
as to whether goods and services claimed on a Treatment Plan are reasonable
and necessary.
We encourage Insurers to make a referral for an examination of this type to a health practitioner who is a member of
the same health profession as the “original provider” who approved the insured
person’s Treatment Plan because of the implications for any potential rebuttal
assessment under section 42.1.
